Repairing Centers

The problem

Every accordionist certainly knows that there is currently no such thing as an international network of certified repairing and maintenance centers for the accordions. Thus, whenever they are, when facing any problem with their instrument would have to:

1. Ship the accordion back to the production company;
or
2. Trust the first person claiming to know how to get their hands in it.

In both cases, there are high risks involved, and usually so are the costs and times. Moreover, all of this is very difficult to estimate in advance.

Our project

The Accordion Craft Academy is born with the aim of preserving and passing on the art of repairing, tuning and maintaining accordions.

We want to really attack this problem, and we have a strategy for doing this: we want to make it possible for every accordionist to know what they are doing when putting their hands inside the accordion, so that they can perform any last-minute repairing (thus often saving a performance!).

However, we also want to do more.

In order to be able to repair any kind of damage or malfunctioning on any kind of accordion, years of experience are required, a long journey topic that not every one is truly interested in pursuing. Our ambitious goal is to train a network of Repairing Centers, an international cornerstone on the repairing and maintenance of this complex and beautiful musical instrument.
Our Repairers, the people working within these Repairing Centers, will be selected among the participants to our courses and will have their name on our website on the dedicated page, so that anyone in need of assistance will be easily able to find them.
